Robin Budd launched Viewfinder Management in 2012 as an extension of her passion for working with writers and directors in film, television and theatre. Capitalizing on her experience as a producer and development executive, Viewfinder Management provides creative and strategic career support in the realization of its clients’ artistic vision.
Most recently, as an independent producer, Robin Budd developed with Tom Perrotta an adaptation of his novel, THE WISHBONES, for television as a half-hour comedy series in association with John Wells Productions, WBTV and Showtime. In 2010, she served as the executive vice president of the Script Development Fund at the non-profit the HUMANITAS Prize, creating an inaugural slate of television projects that partnered “new voices” with experienced showrunners Marc Guggenheim, Shonda Rhimes and Tom Fontana. From April 2007 until January 2010, she was the senior vice president of Mandalay Television. At Mandalay, she conceived, sold and supervised the development of both one hour and half-hour pilots for broadcast and cable networks including CBS, A&E, AMC, HBO, LIFETIME, CW, FX. Prior to her tenure at Mandalay, she worked for over eleven years at The Bedford Falls Company. As vice president of development and production, she managed the company’s feature film and television projects from January 2000 until March 2006. She was a producer on the feature film LONE STAR STATE OF MIND (Screen Gems), a Bedford Falls Company production starring Joshua Jackson and Jamie King and the associate producer on THE SIEGE (20th Century Fox) directed by Edward Zwick. In addition to her work in features for the company, she developed four television pilots with Bedford Falls, and staffed writers and directors on ONCE AND AGAIN (ABC), the critically acclaimed television series created by Edward Zwick and Marshall Herskovitz. She joined the company in 1994 as Edward Zwick’s assistant. She began her career working in theatre administration at Studio Arena Theatre in Buffalo, New York and at the Huntington Theatre Company in Boston, Massachusetts. Robin Budd has a BFA (magna cum laude) in Theatre Studies from Boston University. A native of Brooklyn, NY, she is an alumna of Stuyvesant High School.
